JJIF and JJAU common Board meeting in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2014 was the perfect occasion to arrange a meeting of JJIF, JJAU and JJEU representatives.

The development of Ju-Jitsu in the World got more paces since the constitution of the Ju-Jitsu Asian Union.

JJAU President: Abdulmunem Alsayed M. AL Hashmi and JJIF President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos opened the Board meeting. The work of the last months and the future concepts for the development in Asia had been the main tasks of the meeting.

Sport Director Joachim Thumfart had the floor to present the concepts and plans in the name of JJAU head quarter.
Education, Tournaments, Referees and the schedule for 2014 had been discussed.

The Asian Championship was a main task of the meeting. It will be a big effort for the host country to run this first Asian Championship. Many things are difficult to plan because we are faced a new situation and the preparation time is short.
The date of 07th to 10th august was confirmed and the board agreed, that JJAU President: Abdulmunem Alsayed M. AL Hashmi has the obligation to decide for the host federation after checking the applications.

Present at the meeting had been: JJAU President: Abdulmunem Alsayed M. AL Hashmi; JJIF President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos; JJIF Vice President Tomo Borissov;  JJEU General Secretary Robert Perc Vice President East Asia: Jang Soon Ho; Vice President West: Dr. Mokhles Hassan Haider; Board Member and General Secretary: Fahad Ali AL Shamsi; Board Member: Mr. Dylan Sung (JJIF Vice-President); Board Member: Suresh Gopi; Board Member: Seyed Amir Khoshbin and Pladsri Suwat – Representing the Vice President South East Asia

A JJIF delegation had the chance to meet and discuss with OCA President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah. The big support of OCA to Ju-Jitsu in Asia is a main factor to the positive devellopment we experience at the moment.

The members from different Ju-Jitsu Boards had some days to discuss and exchange.
Next to the official Board Meeting and the impressively well-organized championship the preparation of Asian Championship and the Ju-Jitsu events in Asian Beach Games took place.

JJEU Sports director Christophe Brunet and referee educator Said had the chance to follow the event and compare the rules run in this Professional competition and in JJIF Ne-Waza. In the conclusion we agree that the intention and the course of the fights are the same. Some little details are different. The protocol might be the biggest difference.

Deputy General Secretary Dr. Jaffer Al Muthafer and Sports Director Joe Thumfart had prepared the meeting and gave a professional frame to the work of the board members.
